The WIDE has a beam pattern that is optimised for the widest spacing between light points and when a lower lighting power is needed with a good uniformity, for long-distance applications such as metro and rail.
It is also the solution for a pathway where the handrail is located in its centre, the WIDE will illuminate on both sides of the handrail.

Complying with the directive EN 60598-2-22, the WIDE is perfect for effective emergency lighting or panic lighting such as pathways leading to the exit for example.

Exemple d’application

Dubaï Metro – Red Line – Partner : Gulf Line

For the extension of the Dubai Metro Red Line, the WIDE is installed every 4m, and the average lighting level reached on the floor is 26 lux.
More than 6000 SNAP WIDE are currently in service. End of the project: 2020.

The trains are moving along 10,5 km viaduct and 4 km tunnels. The WIDE are installed on both sides of the rails in order to, in case of breakdown, allow the evacuation of the people towards the nearest station.
